In the early 1980’s Versace was just starting out in the fashion world. Gianni Versace wanted to bring streetwear into high fashion. He was also one of the first people to see the value of the supermodel. His work with Naomi Campbell and famous celebrities such as Elton John showed people how celebrities and the music industry went hand in hand with fashion. By creating looks for rock stars like Madonna his designs were able to reach a larger audience. After Gianni’s death in 1997 his sister Donatella Versace took over the company, and is currently chief creative officer. The company is most well known for bright and bold patterns and colors and the signature medusa head logo that can be found on items we have here such as the Versace Medusa Amplified Print T-shirt and the Versace Icon Medusa Bracelet.
